About Dr. Castaneda

Education has always played an important role in Dr. Castaneda’s life. He earned his undergraduate degree at Velez College in the Philippines. He then attended Southwestern University MHAM College of Medicine in the Philippines, where he completed his MD before moving on to an internship at University of the Philippines.
Upon arriving in America, Dr. Castaneda completed a residency in pediatrics at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. He is also fellowship trained in pediatric neurology.
Dr. Castaneda has served as a staff neurologist and attending neurologist at various New York hospitals. He has shared his knowledge through a role as an assistant professor of neurology and pediatrics at Albany Medical College in New York. Dr. Castaneda is also dedicated to service, and spends time delivering and supporting medical care to patients in Haiti and Sierra Leone.
Currently in private practice and co-founder at eRiver Neurology of NY, Dr. Castaneda continues working closely with those in his care to create positive outcomes. He finds his work deeply rewarding, and is excited to continue expanding his skills and knowledge as advancements in neurology continue to move forward.
